What do you do?  Installation and Training.  "Had we known then" what we'd be doing now, we would have chosen a different name for our business. But we got started by doing installations -- audio, video, telephone equipment, and incidentally computer equipment. Our company name -- Installations Plus+ -- symbolized our reputation for complete, no-problem setups that included easy to understand demonstrations and training. [Note: Installations Plus+ is now a division of SERVENET.COM]

Lots of very good companies install and hook up computer equipment and won't leave the premises until they're sure all the hardware is working properly. We do that too, but as our company motto says, "the difference is we care". We don't leave until we're sure the equipment -- hardware and software -- does what the client needs or wants it to do, and more importantly, we don't leave until we're sure the client knows how to use it.

For Elyse and Marsha of Property Tax Adjusters, installation meant not only setting up the equipment and advising on ergonomics, but making sure each system could look up property assessments and taxes, perform comparables analyses, communicate with the other system, and most importantly prepare and print NYS property tax grievances and petitions. And then came training, first in how to use the Windows 95 operating system in general, and then particularized training in word-processing, property tax look-ups, and database operations.

Training for Elyse and Marsha, as for many of our clients, began on the day we first installed their systems, continued through several additional on-site sessions, and continues even now using pcANYWHERE sessions. If you think this sounds like we do a lot of hand-holding, think again. We'll gladly teach you the general rules and how to learn the specifics -- and of course, we'll help you out with the details if you get in a bind -- but don't look for us to hold your hand or to hang out on the sidelines, coaching as you do your work. Nobody benefits from hand-holding!

While we won't hold your hand, we will follow up from time to time to make sure you're progressing smoothly, and, as you'll read about on the next page, we are often asked to come back to help with special projects.
